We have created 2 tracks in an effort to expand the reach of education beyond those wanting MCWR Credential Track to include a Leader Track.  Our hope is the CLI becomes a great resource for growing leaders throughout the region.

Credential Track

  • These classes are specifically designed for those called into vocational ministry.
  • These classes are required for credentialing with the MCWR.
  • Each class is $100 Class with exception of Foundations of Leadership class, which is $200 for all 4 modules
  • Each class is 8-10 weeks with the exception of Foundations of Leadership class, which is 20 weeks for all 4 modules.
  • Format includes weekly Zoom classroom meetings with instructor, required reading, projects, practical assignments, and testing.  Google Classroom is used for assignments and other class activities.

Leader Track

  • These classes are specifically for church volunteers in a variety of leadership roles.
  • Learn at your own pace.
  • For students wishing to receive a Certificate of Completion, they must work with a “supervisor” or pastor. Students will be accountable to the supervisor to turn in assignments and take the final. Supervisor will notify CLI when their students have completed the course work.
  • Cost: $50 per class with the exception of Foundations of Leadership, which is $100 for all 4 modules
  • Format:
    • View videos of previous live classes
    • Readings, practical assignments, projects
    • Testing will be given by your supervisor

Pastoral Leadership Class Descriptions and Start Dates

  • LEAD ONLINE- Foundations of Leadership (see below)- Will be offered 2-3 times per year starting 3rd quarter 2019
  • Practical Theology – September 9 – November 2019
    • Description: Examines the life and practice of the Church in a real-world context. Explores how theology as an intellectual understanding becomes a guiding force in the life of the day to day church. Covers topics like missions, evangelism, religious education, church growth, administration, preaching, and spiritual formation.
  • Theology Proper- January 6 – March 2020
  • Theology II: Scripture; Anthropology; Christology; Pneumatology-April 1 – May 2020
  • Theology III: Soteriology; Ecclesiology; Eschatology; Position Papers-August 31 – November 2020
  • Old Testament- January 4 – March 2021
  • New Testament- April 5- May 2021
  • Exegesis & Hermeneutics- August 30 – November 2021

LEAD ONLINE General Information:

Description

  • Leadership begins flows from the inside out. The goal of this course it to help leaders develop the knowledge and skill sets to begin to lead themselves in a way that generates spiritual, emotional, mental growth. Growing personally, will generate growth in every other area of life and leadership.

Expectations and Format (for credential track)

  • Watch course training videos.
  • Complete lesson plan for each video course.
  • Attend weekly one hour online coaching class with instructor.
  • Read and journal on required textbook.
  • Complete the written and oral exam at the end of the class.
